Once I saw on the Facebook group that there was a HerHouse host in New Zealand, I got SUPER excited & reached out to Ellen right away! At the time I was in Australia & was still trying to figure out where I would stay upon arriving to New Zealand. Ellen ended up hosting me for a whole month!!! It was the BEST blessing I could have asked for!!! Since I was moving to New Zealand for the year, her help in getting me settled in this new country was INCREDIBLE. It was so fun to hang out with her, her husband & family! We went on lots of amazing adventures & it was the perfect way to start my journey here in New Zealand!

“I was already going to Geneva, Switzerland to visit a friend, so I reached out to Reesa. We were able to connect, I booked a train/bus ticket to her town, and was on my way.

I dropped my bags at her door (she was still at work) and ventured down the road. I walked a mile, taking in the beautiful scenery and the smell of all the flowers and walked back.

Reesa pulled up where I was sitting enjoying the weather. She was wonderful. So welcoming and such a great host. She cooked the best dinner!

I mentioned a cheese farm I noticed on my walk and how I wanted some but didn't have any local currency. Ya'll! The cheese maker is a family friend and a Master Cheese Maker, which is quite the title over here. She was the best in Switzerland for 2 going on 3 years!

Reesa made a phone call and a few minutes later we were headed to the cheese factory! We took a quick private tour AND SHE GOT ME SOME CHEESE TO TAKE HOME! This is seriously the best cheese I've ever eaten.

We came back, had some more prosecco, cheese and fresh strawberries from down the road! Such a perfect evening. Good food, good conversation, amazing cheese, and even better company.

This is a memory I'll always cherish, and who knows, maybe I'll come back! All because of an idea that Tess had, that grew into this wonderful app, creating a community of safe and like minded individuals, but I'll call em’ friends!”

“I haven’t traveled solo in years so I was a little nervous heading to Florida all by myself. My host Jodi was able to pick me up at the airport and showed me all around her beautiful beach town of New Smyrna Beach.

Her home is just a short walk to the beach so I was able to watch the sunrise on the ocean every morning. It was amazing! She’s also in walking distance to the local coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping so no need to get a car while staying with Jodi.

We had so much fun getting drinks in town, having beach days, floating freshwater springs, and she introduced me to her local friends so I had instant community! Since I was saving so much money on accommodation, I was able to treat Jodi to a dolphin kayaking tour which was a memorable experience for both of us.

I left my time in New Smyrna a little sunburned, but with a full heart. Thank you Jodi!!

Hej from Denmark! I’m housesitting here on the Danish island of Fyn for a few weeks while HerHouse host Mika is on holidays.

When I joined HerHouse I had no real travel plans, but had made a New Years resolution to seek out new opportunities. When I saw the housesitting opportunity in Denmark, I knew I had to take it or I’d regret it forever.

It took a while to get organized, but now I’m here, I’m so glad I had the courage to do it. I hadn’t travelled solo in years, so it was super-scary to start with, but planning for emergencies and having a Plan B (and C!) in case anything goes wrong makes a big difference.

I’m also not afraid to ask for help and advice, although no one seems to understand my Duolingo Danish! But I’m working on it!

If you’re thinking about getting out there, just do it! My HerHouse lifetime membership has already paid off big time, and I’m looking for my next adventure already! See you out there!

“I spent almost 3 weeks exploring Denver thanks to my amazing host Kayla and this app. It was so much fun to hang out with Kayla. We gathered with her friends and meditated together, went hiking, had amazing dinner at a cook restaurant, cooked at home, spent Friendsgiving together and went out for ice cream at night while it was freezing outside lol. I also spent lots of time exploring on my own. This was such a nourishing trip that allowed me to come back to myself and feel empowered again. I am forever grateful!”
