Absolutely. Every member must complete a criminal background check and ID verification through our secure partner, Certn, before they can enter the community or host. No exceptions.

Why? HerHouse is a space designed to help you meet new girlfriends and network with women from all over the world. We get together a couple times a month and often ladies talk about their upcoming travels and end up traveling together or meeting up in certain locations.

We’re not a booking platform. It's a place to discover opportunities and THEN go visit your new friends in places you may have never visited otherwise. 

Imagine the adventures that would open up if you had a free place to stay with a girlfriend. 

Yes! In your profile you can disclose who is living in your home so that the traveler can be aware- especially if there is a male living in the home. 

Yes! If you don't have the ability to host at this time that's totally fine. Many of our ladies who can't host would still love to connect with others when they come to their city for a coffee, sightseeing, or simply advice.

Keep in mind you don't need a fancy guest room to host. If you have couch, that's all you need to host in HerHouse!

Hosting in HerHouse is completely voluntary. If you're not available or feel uncomfortable you can decline hosting a traveler. 

We require HerHouse hosts to provide a clean and safe: 

1. Sleeping space

2. Bathroom/toilet

You're NOT required to cook for your HerHouse guest or drive them around. If you would like to, however, that is completely up to you! We encourage communicating and video chatting before the homestay to ensure expectations/boundaries.

Hosting in HerHouse is a truly rewarding experience and it will be a highlight of your year!

HerHouse is designed for solo women travelers. However, if you're traveling with another person, your child, or a pet, just let the host know and she can let you know if she's comfortable with that arrangement and if she has space. 

Hosts often include on their profiles what kind of travelers they would be open to hosting Ex:  solo woman traveler, a woman traveler with a female travel mate, woman traveler with a child etc. 

1. Complete your background check (usually takes 5–10 minutes). It can take a day or two to clear. Once your background check comes back clear, you'll get an automatic invite into the network!

2. Set up your profile- include your likes, dislikes, location, and hosting/meetup capabilities

3. Introduce yourself in the Community Discussion so other women can welcome you.

4. Browse hosts, home swaps, or sit opportunities—or post your upcoming travel dates.
