The fear for your safety and loneliness lifts. Excitement bubbles up like a warm bath. It’s time for an adventure.

How it Works
When you get started in the HerHouse App, you’ll fill out a profile complete with likes, dislikes, and emergency contacts.
In order to see user profiles and request homestays, you will need to purchase a membership and submit your free background check. This helps keep a protective barrier around the community. Learn more about our member safety here.
On the community and host tabs you can search for hosts and other ladies in your desired travel location. On a profile you’ll be able to see the user’s likes/dislikes, and what she expects from her guests (take your shoes off, no smoking, etc. all great things to know before arriving). When you find one with a similar vibe go ahead and submit a homestay request to her.

Your homestay request will include your dates of travel, details about your trip, and a short personal video introducing yourself. Your request will then go into the chat. From there you’re free to communicate with the host to sort out the details of when you will be in her area.
There's nothing quite like staying with a friend in a new area. To preserve the relationship between the guests and hosts, there is no monetary exchange between the two parties. Hosts never charge for providing a safe place for our members.

Home Stays
Being hosted by a HerHouse sister is the main way our users travel. You’ll be able to connect directly with local women for friendship and safe accommodation with them.

Home Sitting
Are you looking for some longer term accommodation? Our members frequently post their homes in different parts of the world if they’re needing a sitter to care for their pets/plants while away. It’s a win-win for both parties with a free background checked sitter and free accommodation for the traveler.

Home Swapping
Are you a homeowner who would like to relocate to another city or country for a month or more? Try home swapping with another HerHouse sister in another part of the world. She’ll come stay at your place while you stay in hers. It’s another win-win with you both getting to live like a local in another country without the accommodation price tag.
What would free accomodation ultimately mean for your travel budget?
While traveling (especially long term traveling) nightly accommodation costs are the #1 thing that will eat through your budget. You could spend hundreds to thousands every month depending on where you're staying.
With a HerHouse membership, what you would spend on one night in an Airbnb or hotel will give you unlimited homestays and safe local connections in the area. This will help stretch your money farther so you can go to the museums, eat the delicious food, and take the surfing lessons.
Global Background Checks
Not just anyone will have access to the community. Our top priority is to keep our users safe by ensuring our members are who they say they are.
You can create a profile on HerHouse but you’ll have limited access in the app. Profile photos and details of other users are hidden until you have a paid membership and passing background check. Additionally, this is required to send messages and request homestays. It's easy for someone to create a fake account on a free social media platform. Requiring background checks and a membership fee to contact other users creates a protective barrier around the community. If someone on the app hasn’t submitted a background check yet, there will be a warning on her profile notifying you. We actively block any profiles that look suspicious or fake.
We also encourage a video introduction when a user requests a homestay with a host. Phone and video chat is highly encouraged prior to meeting. All background checks are covered by HerHouse because our #1 priority is to keep women safe on their travels.
