Meet your Host in Malaysia
“Hello fellow members of HerHouse!
Selamat Datang Ke Malaysia (Welcome to Malaysia.)
Bahasa Malaysia or Malay is Malaysia’s national language. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Patience. I am 63 years old. I am an accountant running a small financial business and trading in stingless honey. I have been rescuing dogs since young and in 2019 I rescued my first kitten. In the picture below I am seen petting my dog. The lady in red is my sister who lives with me.
First thing upon waking up is to practice qigong followed by mass. Later some time in the day I will do some arms and stretches to make sure I live a long healthy life. I wish my vegetables and fruits could supply my daily needs without having to supplement from the shop. This is my goal that one day I will be self-sufficient.
I am looking forward to sharing my townhouse with you. You will have your own entrance, kitchenette, dining, hall and EnSuite room. Like all HerHouse hosts, I expect you to keep the place spick and span and leave it in a clean state. I have 2 bedrooms with a single bed and I can accommodate up to 2 guests at any one time.
If you are a smoker or a drinker we would not be compatible housemates.
I live in the southernmost city of the Malaysian peninsula called Johor Bahru (JB) just a stone throw from Singapore via a causeway. My home is a mere 3 min walk to eateries, laundromat, banks, clinics and a 20 minutes walk to a park.
Top 3 Things to do in Johor:
1. For nature lovers there are many parks to visit click here for your selection https://www.johornationalparks.gov.my/v3/
2. For die hard shoppers Johor has a big array of shopping malls – you can visit one shopping mall a week and still have not covered all of the shopping malls.
3. For a taste of international travel hop over to Singapore via the causeway. You can take a bus or a train ride into Singapore
While visiting Malaysia I would recommend:
Malaysia has 4 UNESCO sites worth visiting. These sites are outstanding spots to experience natural or cultural heritage of the area. Check them out here.
Mount Kinabalu our highest peak and Gunung Mulu Park both in Sabah on the Borneo Island
Malacca and George Town ( Penang Island – my birth town)
Archaeological heritage of the Lenggong Valley.
Having visited 65 countries I find that it cost less to visit Malaysian beaches, rainforests, islands and mountains.
Even though our main language is Malay the older generation like me speaks English.
On the note of older, I would love to host a woman over 50’s who loves gardening, baking and cooking. I hope to connect with like minded women. I welcome you to relax while you stay with me for at least a week to understand this cowboy town called JB.
Welcome to my Home - woof and meows from the dogs and cats too.”
